Product Details
The United States Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) legally requires that anyone involved in the process of handling, shipping, or transporting hazardous materials by ground in commerce must satisfy 49 CFR training requirements before they can legally handle, ship, or otherwise have anything to do with such materials. This means they must know how to comply with all of the 49 CFR training requirements and regulations prescribed in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) - specifically, the sections collectively known as the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR).
These regulations provide stipulations for precisely how hazardous materials must be classified, identified, packed, marked and labeled, placarded, documented, and segregated during the process of shipping by ground. Complying with these regulations is not a choice for hazmat employers and employees, nor is undergoing training to understand the regulations. Adhering to these regulations and receiving the necessary 49 CFR training is required by law in order to prevent potentially disastrous hazardous materials incidents that can endanger property, health, our environment, and the security of the transportation system.
Hazmat University’s 49 CFR (DOT Ground) Training provides required initial or recurrent training to participants involved with the shipping, handling, and/or transport of hazardous materials by ground transport while in commerce to fulfill 49 CFR training requirements. Hazardous materials training is based on the requirements outlined in the United States Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR). Employees who have undergone initial or recurrent training in the past are required by law to undergo recurrent training at least once every three years.
Included in this course at no additional cost are General Awareness and Security Awareness.
