Product Details
Depending on the nature of their employment, certain hazmat employees have duties and responsibilities involving more than one mode of transportation. When these responsibilities involve transportation of hazardous materials in limited quantities by both ground and vessel, employers must provide their employees with limited quantities training in the applicable modes of transportation before those employees can begin performing their duties and working with the hazardous materials / dangerous goods in any capacity.
In an effort to prevent incidents and accidents from occurring, hazmat employees involved in the ground or vessel transport process must undergo limited quantities training and comply with strict regulations for the classification, identification, packing, marking and labeling, documentation, placarding, and segregation of hazardous materials. They must know which types of dangerous goods are outright forbidden from being transported, and those that are only allowed under certain conditions and in certain amounts to qualify for the limited quantity exceptions..
Hazmat University provides limited quantities training for each mode of transportation respectively and combined. For employers and employees involved in the transportation of hazardous materials in limited quantities by more than one mode, we also provide online multimodal options, including multimodal ground and vessel limited quantities training. The modules from the separate limited quantities courses for ground and vessel training are combined to provide a comprehensive limited quantities hazmat training program for ground and vessel, and at a lower cost than if you purchase the courses separately. If your dangerous goods responsibilities encompass both ground and vessel transportation of Limited Quantities, you can successfully complete the required 49 CFR and IMDG limited quantities training with our online multimodal option.
This course provides the required initial or recurrent limited quantities training to participants involved with the shipping, handling, and/or transport of dangerous goods in Limited Quantities by ground and by vessel. Dangerous goods by vessel limited quantities training is based on the current requirements outlined in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code), as authorized by Title 49 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR). Limited quantities hazmat training for shipping hazardous materials by ground incorporates current requirements as outlined in 49 CFR. This course complies with the initial and/or recurrent training requirements of 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H, Section 172.704 and the IMDG Code for transportation of Limited Quantities by Ground and by Vessel.
Included in this course at no additional cost are General Awareness and Security Awareness.
Employees who have undergone initial or recurrent limited quantities training in the past are required by law to undergo recurrent training at least every three years according to 49 CFR and the IMDG Code.
